Spotlight: The Outlook at Windhaven

The Plano Chamber membership team is thrilled to present our NEW monthly Member Spotlights! Each month, we will be highlighting different Plano Chamber of Commerce members to continue connecting our members with each other and the Plano community at large.

The Plano Chamber would like to welcome and spotlight our member, The Outlook at Windhaven. Heather Wagemann, our Membership Engagement Manager, asked Marketing Assistant, Alyssa Landa, a few questions about their business, membership, and her role in the community.

1. What would you like readers to know about The Outlook at Windhaven and what you specialize in?

The Outlook at Windhaven is a nonprofit continuing care retirement community in West Plano, offering independent living apartment and cottage homes, assisted living apartments, and memory support suites. We will break ground later this year on 18 acres off Windhaven, just south of Spring Creek, and open the community in 2024. The Outlook is part of the Dallas-based Forefront Living family (Presbyterian Village North, T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center, and Faith Hospice), with more than 60 years of experience in caring for seniors in this area. We are currently conducting informational appointments at our office in Lakeside Market, allowing potential residents to reserve a residence for their future planning.

2. Why did you choose to join the Plano Chamber of Commerce?

We want to help those who are planning for their future by educating them on the local senior living options and how The Outlook may fit into that mix. We are attracting a variety of people from those planning for their own retirement, to those thinking ahead for a parent or other loved one. We are also looking for local partners for our future when the community opens and we will offer local outings, wellness event including fitness classes and more, presentations and educational events for our residents.

3. Tell us about your involvement in the community.

Our Information Center opened in August 2021, and we are enjoying meeting with Plano area residents who are considering their next exciting chapter in life. We are approaching 70% pre-sales and are having a lot of fun with those early “Charter Members” who are getting acquainted before the community opens. We get together regularly in different locations around Plano to meet, mingle and learn.

Forefront Living has been serving the Dallas area for more than 60 years and their involvement in the community is great and well-known, from opening a free Montessori school and a Covid Unit at PVN (not for PVN residents, but to help with hospital overflow when COVID was at its worst), to benevolent hospice care, and numerous charity drives and donations. The Outlook plans to continue that same spirit in Plano.

4. What part of your work environment is your favorite?

Forefront Living’s Mission is to “Make each moment matter for those we serve.” We truly live the mission through our daily “Moments that Matter” staff meeting, reminding us of the organization’s values of diversity, integrity, stewardship, and compassion. Our future residents share with us that you can truly feel the nonprofit difference at The Outlook! Our team at The Outlook Information Center is made up of talented, knowledgeable, and friendly ladies here to answer your questions and help you find the best retirement option for your needs and wants. We welcome calls to schedule an appointment and take a “virtual tour” of The Outlook or to learn dates of upcoming informational
