MINORITY-, WOMEN- & VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The Plano United Business (PUB) program is a 1-year mentorship program for minority-, women-, and veteran-owned small businesses located in Collin County. This comprehensive program will provide opportunities for growth through membership, education, mentorship, and relationship building for participants.

Business owners that are accepted into the program as a mentee will receive an Excel Membership with the Plano Chamber of Commerce, quarterly Lunch & Learns with industry experts, invitations to various events, and mentorship with local small businesses and Plano Chamber members throughout the duration of the program.

REQUIREMENTS OF APPLICANT

• Have a registered business in the county and the city in which the business is located
• Own a business that is a minority-, woman-, or veteran-business
• Agree to participate in all aspects of the PUB program throughout the one-year program including specialized programming and mentorship activities
• Share financials, marketing plans, and company strategies with a mentor
• Fill out an application
• Pay an application fee of $500 (if accepted into the program which will be matched with a $2,000 valued Plano Chamber membership)

ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM

As a mentee, each member of the cohort will receive

  • Membership: receive an Excel Membership with the Plano Chamber of Commerce throughout the duration of the program.
  • Invitation to Small Business focused programming including Success in Business, Business After Hours, and Friday Morning at the Chamber.
  • Invitation to Events: invitation and free entry to various Plano Chamber events
  • Special Programming: Quarterly lunch and learn sessions with industry experts on specialized workforce development topic
