The Plano Chamber Board of Directors SUPPORTS the City of Plano Venue Tax Proposition.

The proposition relates to the proposed sports and community arena planned as part of the redevelopment of the Willow Bend area.

The election asks Plano voters to authorize venue-related revenue sources to help finance the City’s portion of the arena project and related improvements.

The Plano Chamber supports the proposition because of the opportunity the broader redevelopment presents for continued economic development, tourism, business activity and investment in Plano.

A successful redevelopment of the Willow Bend area has the potential to create a significant new destination within Plano, attract visitors and investment, generate economic activity and support the continued evolution of one of the city’s major commercial areas.

The Plano Chamber Board of Directors SUPPORTS Collin College Proposition A.

Proposition A would authorize $600 million in bonds to fund Phases II and III of Collin College’s Destination 2030 long-range plan.

Projects include expansions and renovations at campuses throughout Collin County, including the Plano Courtyard Center, as well as new facilities designed to increase capacity for workforce training and academic programs.

The proposition would expand more than 20 Career and Technical Education pathways in high-demand career fields.

Why It Matters to Business

Access to a skilled workforce is critical to the continued success of Plano and Collin County employers.

As our region grows, Proposition A would expand Collin College’s capacity to prepare students for high-demand careers and provide employers with a stronger regional talent pipeline.
