Principal for a Day brings business and civic leaders into Plano ISD campuses to experience a day in the life of a public-school principal. Principal for a Day is a collaboration between the Plano Chamber, the Plano Works Leadership Foundation, the PISD Education Foundation, and Plano ISD, designed to:
  • Increase community awareness of Plano ISD’s strengths and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the private sector’s commitment to ensuring a quality public education for all students; and
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration between the business community and Plano ISD

Program Description

Principal for a Day is an exclusive volunteer opportunity. All participants must submit an application and be approved to serve as a Principal for a Day.
Ideal Principal for a Day candidates are business or community leaders with decision-making authority within their respective organization or community, such as C-suite executives and emerging business or community leaders.

Applications open May 1,  2026, and close on August 12, 2026. Participants will be announced the week of September 1, 2026.
