President/ Chief Executive Officer
Post Date: August 18, 2026
The Plano Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for President/ Chief Executive Officer.
Help Shape the Next 80 Years
The Biggest Small Business You’ll Ever Lead.
Why This Role Matters
For 80 years, the Plano Chamber of Commerce has helped shape one of the nation’s most vibrant business communities. Located in an award-winning “City of Excellence” with more than 280,000 residents, Plano is home to over 900+ Chamber member organizations representing more than 170,000 employees. From global headquarters like Toyota North America, Frito-Lay, USAA, and JPMorgan Chase to innovative entrepreneurs, educators, elected officials, nonprofits, and civic leaders, we’ve brought together the people and organizations driving one of the country’s most dynamic local economies around a simple belief:
When business and community thrive together, everyone wins.
Today, Plano stands among America’s premier business communities. A place where global headquarters, innovative entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, and civic institutions work together to create extraordinary opportunities. The Plano Chamber has played an important role in that story.
Now it’s time to write the next chapter.
We’re looking for a President & CEO who can honor the legacy built over the past eight decades while creating a vision that ensures the Chamber remains just as relevant, influential, and valuable for the next 80 years. This isn’t an opportunity to simply manage an organization. It’s an opportunity to steward an institution.
The Opportunity
The Plano Chamber is where business meets community.
Through leadership development, business advocacy, strategic partnerships, workforce initiatives, and meaningful member engagement, the Chamber brings together the people and organizations shaping Plano’s future. Signature programs such as Leadership Plano, Women’s Division, and Young Professionals have become part of the Chamber’s legacy, while partnerships across business, education, local government, and the nonprofit community continue to strengthen one of the country’s most dynamic economies. The Chamber also works in partnership with the Plano Works Leadership Foundation to advance leadership development, workforce initiatives, and programs that strengthen connections between business and the broader community. These priorities align with the Chamber’s strategic responsibilities for advocacy, community leadership, workforce development, member value, and organizational excellence.
As President & CEO, you’ll have the unique opportunity to preserve what generations have built while asking an important question:
What should the Chamber of Commerce look like for the next generation of business leaders?
The Leader We’re Looking For
The right leader brings more than executive experience. They bring the judgment, character, and vision to lead an organization whose influence extends far beyond its size.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Builds relationships before transactions. You naturally connect with people, from Fortune 500 executives and elected officials to entrepreneurs and emerging leaders. You’ll earn trust through authenticity.
- Creates clarity from complexity. You don’t chase every opinion or react to the loudest voice. You gather perspectives, recognize patterns, and make thoughtful decisions that serve the entire business community.
- Honors legacy while embracing innovation. You appreciate what has made the Plano Chamber exceptional while continually looking for new ways to create value for future members.
- Develops people. Whether working with staff, volunteers, board members, or community leaders, you believe your greatest accomplishment is helping others succeed.
- Leads with substance. You have executive presence, but your credibility comes from thoughtful leadership, sound judgment, and consistent results.
- Thrives in a visible leadership role. You enjoy representing an organization, convening leaders, speaking publicly, and becoming a trusted voice within the community.
- Builds organizations that outlast them. You create vision, empower others to execute it, and intentionally leave teams stronger than you found them
