The Plano Chamber membership team presents our monthly Member Spotlights! Each month, we will be highlighting different Plano Chamber of Commerce members to continue connecting our members with each other and the Plano community at large.

The Plano Chamber would like to welcome and spotlight, Tell Me Something Sweet Bakery. Heather Wagemann, our Membership Engagement Manager, asked Co-Founder & Chief Operating Offer, Candace Ford, a few questions about their business, Chamber membership, and their role in the community.

1. What would you like readers to know about Tell Me Something Sweet Bakery and what you specialize in? 

Tell Me Something Sweet is proud to be a black-owned bakery telling multi-generational “secrets” through the sale of handmade baked goods crafted with real ingredients and care. We started operations in 2020 as a home-based bakery and for two years sold at various farmers’ markets and various events across the state of Texas. Our desire was to always have a brick & mortar and we were able to secure the property at 930 E. 15th Street Suite 200 in downtown Plano, opening on October 1, 2022. We specialize in homestyle baked goods, pound cakes, pies, and dessert bars and we also have a delicious breakfast line of baked goods that we sell such as scones, muffins, and quick breads. 

2. Why did you choose to join the Plano Chamber of Commerce?

We chose to join the Chamber to get plugged into the community and the happenings of the business sector of the city. We believe that the Chamber can assist us in connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs and giving us a voice as it pertains to legislation for small businesses.

3. Tell us about your involvement in the community.

We are still getting our feet wet and learning about the things that make Plano a great city. We are involved with the Historic Downtown Plano Association and love getting to network and collaborate with the other merchants in the downtown area.

4. What is your favorite part of your current work environment?

We LOVE meeting new customers and serving our returning customers.
