Plano Chamber of Commerce to Host Workforce Summit Focused on Upskilling and Reskilling the Modern Workforce
PLANO, TX – May 20, 2026—The Plano Chamber of Commerce will host its upcoming Workforce Summit on Friday, June 12, 2026, presented by Yum! Brands, Inc., bringing together business leaders, workforce experts, educators, and community partners for a forward-focused conversation on building a stronger, future-ready workforce.
This year’s summit will center on upskilling and reskilling, exploring how organizations can prepare employees for the rapidly evolving workplace through workforce development, innovation, technology, and leadership strategies.
The event will feature a special fireside chat with Chris Turner, Chief Executive Officer of Yum! Brands, moderated by Ashley Miller of Yum! Brands. The conversation will explore leadership, company culture, workforce transformation, and preparing organizations for the future of work. Opening remarks will be delivered by Kelle Marsalis, President & CEO of the Plano Chamber, along with host remarks from James Fripp, Chief Culture, Opportunity & Belonging Officer at Yum! Brands.
The summit will also feature a Talent Advancement Network (TAN) Collective overview and call to action led by Crystal Clayton of Southern Methodist University, highlighting regional collaboration efforts designed to strengthen workforce development and community engagement.
A featured panel discussion titled “Reskilling & Upskilling a Workforce” will bring together leaders from workforce development, talent management, and AI innovation, including:

Carolyn Humpherys, Head of AI Strategy and Enablement | Innovation and Adoption Leader
Seth Green, Regional Business Liaison, Employer Engagement and Community Outreach, Texas Workforce Commission
The panel will explore practical strategies for workforce development, AI adoption, employee growth, and preparing teams for long-term success in an evolving economy.
“The Workforce Summit is about creating meaningful conversations around the future of work and equipping organizations with strategies that help businesses and employees succeed,” said Marsalis. “As workforce needs continue to evolve, collaboration between business, education, and community leaders is more important than ever.”
The summit will begin with networking at 10:15 a.m., followed by programming at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will also have opportunities to connect during a networking lunch before the afternoon panel discussion. The event will conclude at 1:00 p.m.
