Plano Chamber of Commerce Names Carole Greisdorf as 2024 Citizen of the Year
Plano, TX – October 8, 2024 – The Plano Chamber of Commerce is honored to announce Carole Greisdorf as the recipient of the 2024 Citizen of the Year Award. This prestigious award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding personal contributions over the years, significantly impacting the welfare and advancement of Plano through their dedication, advocacy, and leadership.
Carole Greisdorf has a long history of service to the Plano community. She served as the program director of Leadership Plano (LP) from 2005-2007, 2014-2018, and 2021-2024. In this role, Carole oversaw LP class sessions, the annual retreat, and other projects involving both the class and alumni. A graduate of Leadership Plano Class 11 and Leadership Texas, she has also served as president of the LP Board.
Originally from Florida, Carole moved to Texas in 1992 to take on the role of Chief Communications Officer for Plano ISD, where she worked for 12 years. Her commitment to community service extends far beyond her professional career. Carole has actively contributed to organizations such as the Sci-Tech Discovery Center, Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, PTA at local and national levels, Plano Youth Leadership, ArtCentre of Plano, and Junior League of Collin County. She is also a lifetime member of the National Council of Jewish Women.
Carole’s dedication to Plano has earned her numerous accolades, including the ATHENA Award from the Plano Chamber in 2003, the Top Ten Woman of Collin County honor in 2015, and Leadership Plano’s Distinguished Leadership Award in 2019.
“We are delighted to present the 2024 Citizen of the Year Award to Carole Greisdorf,” said Kelle Marsalis, President and CEO of the Plano Chamber of Commerce. “Carole’s passion for serving the community and her tireless efforts to make Plano a better place are truly inspiring.
