Member Spotlight: Metro Animals

The Plano Chamber membership team is thrilled to present our  monthly Member Spotlights! Each month, we will be highlighting different Plano Chamber of Commerce members to continue connecting our members with each other and the Plano community at large.

The Plano Chamber would like to welcome and spotlight, Metro Animals. Heather Wagemann, our Membership Engagement Manager, asked Owners, Marcus Brunt and Charlsye Lewis, a few questions about their business, membership, and role in the community.

1. What would you like readers to know about Metro Animals Plano and what you specialize in?

Metro Animals has provided Fort Worth with dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services for over 17 years. We are very excited to extend our offerings to the city of Plano.

Our brand-new location is our largest facility yet with large indoor daycare rooms and large suites for overnight boarding. We are installing a large outdoor yard with state-of-the-art turf specifically made for active dogs.

We treat pets like a member of the family and keep the focus on all-day play. Many pet parents drop off their pups while at work or running errands, knowing that their furry friends will have a joyful time with our team.

Our grooming team provides a range of services from full-service grooming to bathing and nail trims. We also offer a great selection of pet products for cats and dogs.

2.  Why did you choose to join the Plano Chamber of Commerce?

Plano is such an incredible community of families and thriving businesses. Plano was our top pick when we were looking to expand Metro Animals into a new city. Joining the Chamber was an even easier decision.

Not only do we love the work that the group does to promote businesses in Collin County, but the networking benefits are unmatched.  Connecting with other local business owners is crucial to learning more about the landscape and provides a chance to meet others who have been part of the community already.

 3. Tell us about your involvement in the community.

Serving people and animals is at the heart of what we do as business owners. It was built into the very foundation of the company. We work with local rescues in the DFW metroplex like Saving Hope and The Love Pit to help foster dogs, until they find their fur-ever home. On our social media, we spread the word about pets that are up for adoption. Another crucial service we provide to rescues is free grooms. Sometimes all it takes to get a dog adopted is a bath and a fresh cut.

We love sponsoring local events and meeting with other members of the community. Most recently we were at the Plano Balloon Festival where we were not only able to enjoy the incredible balloons, but also give out merchandise to pet parents. We like to provide useful merch including hundreds of tote bags, toys, and poo bags!

4. What is one thing you hope to learn during your first year as a member?

Being a small-business owner can be challenging in the post-pandemic age of Amazon. To really thrive as a company, it’s important to become a true member of the community. Large businesses are not able to offer the kind of personalized service that we can provide as locals.

In our first year of membership, we hope to learn from fellow business owners how we can best serve the thriving city of Plano. We are looking forward to engaging with other Chamber of Commerce members at local events and bringing what we can to the community.
