Meet The Summer Interns – Hudson Mun
The Plano Chamber is thrilled to introduce two Plano Independent School District students who will be joining them this summer as interns through the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program.Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program is a paid summer internship program for rising juniors and seniors attending a Plano public school or residing in Plano.” Coupled with Plano Chamber’s goal of fostering connections and creating a thriving Plano business community, the Chamber’s collaboration with this program is the perfect outlet to provide a valuable environment for leadership, engagement and building up a skilled workforce.
The Plano Chamber would like to welcome and spotlight our second intern, Hudson Mun. LaChaya Terry, our Communications & Marketing Director asked Hudson a few questions about his community involvement, future goals, and what she hopes to learn this summer from her interning experience.

1. What would you like readers to know about YOU and why you chose to participate in the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program?
One quote I live by is, “Never let tonight’s issues be tomorrow morning’s problems.” I know I will make mistakes, but I believe every day is a new chance to achieve something greater. I chose to participate in the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program because I wanted to gain real world experiences in fields that I am interested in pursuing. The program’s wide range of fields that interns can work with truly shows that anyone can be a part of the program. I have since discovered how much the program has to offer. From Intern Prep Day to Orientation, I have gained valuable, real-life skills that prepare me for the future. These diverse experiences allow students like myself to clearly envision what lies ahead.
2. Tell us about your community involvement.
Since middle school, I have always been a part of at least one volunteer program, whether it was the National Honor Society, Young Men’s Service League, Key Club International, or simply volunteering with my family and friends. This commitment led me to become the founder of the Key Club at my junior high school, where I grew the organization to over 60 members who collectively contributed more than 1,000 service hours. Through these experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for community engagement and the impact of organized service. I am excited to bring this same dedication and leadership to my work here at the Chamber.
3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
With companies like JP Morgan Chase and Toyota moving their headquarters to Plano, the city has seen rapid growth economically. In 5 years, I would love to come back to this city and start my career in business/finance at one of those companies where I can take what I’ve learned while also giving back to the community that I love. The world is constantly changing and this affects how businesses operate as well as influencing their internal structure and how they treat clients. Ultimately, I see this stage in life as a stepping stone to building long term success and working towards advancements in my career.
4. What do you hope to learn while interning at the Plano Chamber of Commerce?
At the Plano Chamber of Commerce, I hope to learn numerous things—whether it’s about the office, event planning, company relations, business management, or overall, how to be a great intern. With such a great team, I am eager to learn from them and apply that knowledge in the future. I hope to learn aspects of the corporate world and working in an office, as well as how to make the most out of opportunities and connections down the road.
