FEDERAL
- The US Senate returns to the Capitol on Monday evening and will continue the next round of negotiations with the House over a fourth relief package. President Trump has signaled he plans to wait and see if another package is necessary, while the two chambers discuss what it may entail.

STATE
- Texas began the Phase I reopening of its economy on Friday, May 1st. Gov. Abbott has indicated Phase II, which would include new industries and expanded capacities for those businesses currently open, may occur as early as May 18, if the data supports this increase.
- Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced Texas saw a 9.3% decrease in sales tax during the month of April. He plans to unveil his updated set of state budget projections in July, previewing those numbers by saying he expects those numbers to be “billions” of dollars less than previously anticipated.

REGIONAL/LOCAL
- Many Plano businesses struggled with the decision on whether to reopen last Monday.
- Plano ISD continues to adapt to current circumstances and create contingency plans for the future. With schools closed for the remainder of this year, the district is currently developing plans for typical year-end activities like graduations, as well as beginning to plan for what school in the fall may entail.
