CHAMBER UPDATE
- Join us Wednesday, April 15 at 1:00 pm for a Town Hall call with U.S. Senator John Cornyn and a representative of the Small Business Administration. Click HERE to register and submit your questions in advance.
FEDERAL UPDATE
- President Trump is expected to make announcements this week on plans to slowly reopen parts of the economy as early as May.
- If there is to be another stimulus bill, Senate Republicans have signaled they would prefer to have that conversation next month after we have had more time to implement the CARES Act and evaluate what remains to be done.

STATE UPDATE
- Governor Abbott will unveil plans to begin the reopening of the Texas economy later this week, but warned it will be a “slow process” that prioritizes public health. The Governor also announced a new initiative to fund $50 million in private, forgivable loans for Texas small businesses that is backed by Goldman Sachs and will be administered through the SBA.

LOCAL UPDATE
- The Plano ISD Board of Trustees voted to extend some emergency authority to Superintendent Bonser to allow the district to continue to react swiftly to meet the needs of students in this remote learning environment.
