In order to keep you informed on the evolving impact of COVID-19 on our local community, the Plano Chamber will be publishing updates on Mondays and Thursdays as the Business Bulletin. We will share the top news items that you need to read to stay up-to-date on important health, community, and business issues as they develop.

FEDERAL
- Congress has a lot to consider for its next Coronavirus Relief bill, including lessons learned from the CARES Act.

STATE
- Governor Abbott has been making the rounds on media promoting the importance of complying with the new state-ordered mask mandate, indicating that if people don’t wear masks and slow the spread, the next step he would be forced to consider is another lockdown.
- The Texas Education Agency released its health guidelines for the 2020/2021 school year, which included masks for teachers and students, social distancing and notification policies for confirmed cases.

REGIONAL/LOCAL
- Plano ISD released a draft plan for starting classes this fall. The plan includes a number of new safety protocols, including face masks and health screenings. While the district will be holding in-person instruction for those that choose to return, they will also offer a virtual option for students who do not. Families have until July 16th to choose whether they will continue virtual learning or return to campuses.
