50 Leading Women: Stephanie Pope

In honor and celebration of our Women’s Division‘s 50th Anniversary, we will be spotlighting 50 Leading Women making an impact, raising their voice, and leading the next generation of women in the workforce and Plano community.
Introducing, Stephanie Pope, Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Global Services. Stephanie is charged with the responsibility of leading Boeing’s aerospace services business supporting commercial, government and aviation industry customers worldwide. Boeing Global Services offers solutions in fleet sustainment, parts and distribution, digital capabilities, training, engineering and modifications, as well as cabins and interiors. She is a member of Boeing’s Executive Council and the executive sponsor of Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership, Boeing’s business resource group committed to increasing gender diversity awareness and promoting diverse representation amongst women.

1. Describe your leadership style
I believe in leading with purpose, integrity, and listening. Whether it’s externally with customers and stakeholders or internally with Boeing teammates, I believe in the power of partnering and collaborating to achieve a common goal.
2. What are the most important decisions you make as a leader?
It is absolutely critical that leaders surround themselves with the right team. As a leader, you are constantly developing and assessing talent to make sure you have the right people in the right jobs to meet the needs of the business.
3. What has been one of your biggest joys as a leader?
We don’t succeed as individuals; we succeed together as teams. It has been a joy to watch people on my team and those I have mentored move up in their career and take on big leadership roles. While you always want to keep the best people around, I love it when someone moves on to another area of the business for the opportunity to shine.
4. What advice can you give to the next generation of female leaders?
You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. When you are uncomfortable, that is when you are learning and growing the most. Even if you try something new and you fail, you are going to gain something valuable from that experience.
5. What excites you about your current leadership role?
I’m excited by the opportunity to deepen relationships with our customers and drive even more value for them by enhancing our capabilities and readiness. This year we celebrated Boeing Global Services’ five-year anniversary. I am so proud of the work our team has accomplished, but I firmly believe that the best is yet to come.
