In celebration of Texas Chamber of Commerce Week, the Plano Chamber will be publishing daily blog posts detailing some of the work we’re doing in the community for our businesses and residents.
The Plano Chamber aims to stay relevant to the community by supporting the development of new ideas to create value for our members and business partners. In 2016, multiple programs were added to provide further opportunities for certain sections of Plano businesses and organizations.
Managed by the Plano Chamber, the LegacyTexas Business Center offers Wi-Fi, workstations, a coffee bar, printer/copier/scanner, shredder, and huddle spots throughout the Business Center for small meetings. Room reservations for small offices or the larger conference room with Wi-Fi and projector capabilities is available for Chamber members.
July 2016 saw the formation of the Organization for Non-profit Engagement, or ONE Plano. This lunch-and-learn series helps provide solutions for the local nonprofit community, including the need for professional development and best practices. This program connects area nonprofits with the strong business community in North Texas. The bi-monthly luncheons feature different speakers and panelists that aim to help the nonprofits grow and improve their operations and reach.
Also new in 2016 was the Plano Culture & Inclusion Alliance, a collaborative and networking group of professionals who come together to share best practices, tools, resources, and ideas to harness the power of inclusion and diversity in our work environment and community. The working lunch discussion feature new inclusion and diversity topics from two companies each month. This initiative is sponsored by Cigna.
Through innovative programs and initiatives, the Plano Chamber continues to stay on the forefront of business development and progress.
