Young Professionals of Plano (YPP) is a division of the Plano Chamber of Commerce that was formed in 2006 focuses on young professionals between the ages of 25 and 40. YPP aims to maximize personal and professional growth through social, educational, and community-focused events.

YPP Committee
Comprised of Plano Chamber members between the ages of 25-40, the YPP Committee members are active in the community and/or looking to be more involved in the community. The committee provides peer-driven leadership and guidance for the continued growth and success of the program. Committee meetings are held every month (6 in-person and 6 virtual) to plan events, evaluate program success, and brainstorm new opportunities to engage local young professionals.
Committee Expectations
• Committee members will advise and support the Plano Chamber mission and vision through Young Professionals of Plano programming and events to accelerate the growth and leadership of the business community’s young professionals
• Committee member’s company will be in good standing with their Plano Chamber membership.
• Committee members will remain in the committee for 1 (one) calendar year (January-December) and can serve a maximum of 3 (three) years. Chairperson will remain in the position for one calendar year with an additional year serving as the Chair Elect prior to their term as Chair.
• Committee members will be asked to assist in recruiting speakers, locations, and sponsors through making asks to their own company or outreach to others.
• Committee members may be asked to help recruit new members and invite new people to all events and programming.
• Committee members are required to attend at least 8 meetings (virtually or in-person) monthly planning meetings out of the 10+ meetings a year.
• Committee members are required to attend at least 70% of all Young Professionals of Plano programming/events.
