Since its inception in 1946, the Plano Chamber has recognized the importance of education and business development for Plano organizations and companies. Learning opportunities and entrepreneurial training sessions are offered through seminars and focused interest groups.

A renowned educational opportunity for local business-people is the Leadership Plano program. This signature program spans nine months and is designed to enhance individual and community leadership skills. The class spends one day per month examining various aspects and gaining insight into the inner workings of the community.

In 2016, Plano 360 was formed to introduce corporate executives to integral components of our vibrant city within a two-day, expedited program. This limited, invitation-only platform provides participants with valuable insight into Plano and personal interaction with the community’s highest leadership.

For those looking to further their personal and professional development, the monthly Success in Business seminars are an ideal opportunity. Whether it is training on how to communicate more effectively in the workplace or increasing referrals, these lunch-and-learns deliver an engaging program for business professionals at all levels. The Business Development Committee coordinates each luncheon and will begin offering new, innovative options in 2017.

In 1972, a group of women joined together to create what is now known as the Women’s Division of the Plano Chamber of Commerce. Women’s Division offers monthly luncheons featuring distinguished speakers on topics ranging from sales to social media, corporate culture to community involvement, and much more. The quarterly Nothing But Networking events provide attendees the opportunity to establish dozens of new connections through multiple “speed networking” events. Open to men and women, Women’s Division has had a powerful impact on Plano and continues to develop future leaders.

Young Professionals of Plano (YPP) is designed to provide young professionals with opportunities and resources to maximize professional and personal development. YPP targets young professionals between the ages of 25-40 with monthly networking, educational, and community-based opportunities to foster Plano’s up-and-coming business leaders.

2016 saw the first individual appointed to represent the YPP Executive Committee on the Plano Chamber Board of Directors. Additionally, the Rising Star Award was created to recognize an outstanding young professional during the annual Best of Plano awards ceremony.

The Plano Chamber aims to provide educational opportunities to meet the needs of our business members spanning all industries, involvement, and age ranges. To learn more about the many opportunities for further development both professionally and personally, please CLICK HERE.
