Plano Chamber and Regional Partners Bring Unified North Texas Voice to Capitol Hill During Washington, D.C. Fly-In

PLANO, TX – May 6, 2026 — Leaders from the Plano Chamber of Commerce joined regional partners including the Dallas Regional Chamber, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce for a North Texas Fly-In to Washington, D.C., bringing the priorities of more than 4,000 businesses directly to federal decision-makers.

During the April 14–16 visit, the delegation delivered a unified North Texas message on Capitol Hill, engaging members of Congress and federal agencies on policies critical to the region’s continued growth and competitiveness.

“North Texas continues to lead as one of the most dynamic economic regions in the country, and collaboration across our business community strengthens our ability to influence meaningful policy outcomes,” said Kelle Marsalis, President & CEO of the Plano Chamber. “This fly-in ensures the voice of our employers is heard in Washington and that we are actively shaping policies that support long-term growth, talent development and innovation.”

Ahead of the trip, the four chambers aligned on a focused federal agenda centered on economic development and infrastructure, education and workforce, and advanced technologies. Key priorities included transportation funding reauthorization, modernization of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, childcare support, and a clear federal framework for emerging technologies such as AI and autonomous mobility.

The delegation met with federal officials, including the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, to discuss workforce development, apprenticeships and long-term talent strategies. On Capitol Hill, meetings included members of the North Texas congressional delegation and their staff, including U.S. Representatives Keith Self, Pat Fallon, Pete Sessions, Jake Ellzey, Brian Babin, Beth Van Duyne, Marc Veasey, Roger Williams, Brandon Gill, and U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.

The trip also included a policy discussion with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a regional reception with industry leaders at Lockheed Martin’s Washington, D.C. office and flight simulator.

The Plano Chamber values the opportunity to advocate on behalf of its members at the federal level and appreciates the collaboration with regional partners to advance a strong, unified North Texas voice in Washington.
