As the voice of business, the Plano Chamber’s fundamental purpose is to create and sustain a competitive advantage for businesses in the City of Plano and the North Texas region. It is our goal to develop and promote public policy positions and foster a proactive agenda to protect the interest of business and advance the quality of life of the community. We work with member companies, all levels and offices of government, and numerous partner organizations to address issues such as business climate, workforce development, infrastructure, and urban expansion.
Listening to the concerns of our membership is the Plano Chamber’s top priority. Our Public Policy Committee works tirelessly to identify the issues of the highest priority to our business community and to act on their behalf. Additionally, Plano Chamber advocacy programs and events provide unique opportunities to connect with local, state, and national elected officials.

Members of the Collin County chambers of commerce, as well as elected officials, community leaders, and business professionals, participate in a two-day program in Austin every other year to kick off the new legislative session. Over 150 representatives from across the county meet with legislators and area elected officials to learn more about the important issues facing our county. Join us for Collin County Days 2027!
Leadership from the Plano Chamber, Plano ISD and City of Plano join forces, along with community leaders and business professionals, to participate in a two-day program in Austin every other year to kick off the new legislative session. Over 100 representatives from across the region meet with legislators and area elected officials to learn more about the important issues facing our county.
The two-day program begins with a luncheon featuring updates on the current legislative session presented by elected officials, followed by additional speakers, break-out sessions, and a reception. The following day will include a trip to the Capitol to be introduced in the House and Senate chambers and meetings with local legislators.

The primary purpose of the Public Policy Committee is to advocate for the business community on legislative issues affecting our members. We educate our members on matters of public policy and legislation that can impact their business.
Committee membership is open to any current member of the Plano Chamber with a long-term interest in public policy and legislative matters, as well as a willingness to advise and serve as an advocate for selected issues with fellow members.
