Collin County Community College Spring Creek campus opened in the fall of 1988. The college offers Collin County residents expanded opportunities for educational and cultural enrichment, whether their plans are for transferring to a four-year institution, obtaining a two-year technical degree, or taking courses for personal enrichment. The credit enrollment at the college for the fall of 2006 semester is 18,000, making Collin County Community College the 9th largest Community College district in the State of Texas. The University of Texas at Dallas is located in Dallas and Collin Counties on Plano's southern boundary. SMU-in-Legacy SMU’s Plano campus opened in 1997. The facility provides Collin County residences opportunities to study graduate level material in the areas of business, engineering, dispute resolution, digital game design, and education. With approximately 2500 enrolled in graduate masters and certification courses there are also offerings in computer systems, financial planning, international languages, adult enrichment and, during the summer, over 60 different children’s workshops.
