Ambassador Club Purpose
The Plano Chamber Ambassador Club is dedicated to enhancing Chamber membership by welcoming new members to the Chamber and uniting them with current members to build the Plano business community. Ambassador Club good will volunteers play a vital role in member retention, recruitment and communication through active interaction with current and prospective Chamber members.

Becoming a part of the Ambassador program is one option members can exercise to increase their commitment to the Chamber while gaining additional exposure for themselves and their business. Ambassadors generate excitement and enthusiasm through participation in ribbon cuttings, grand openings, and other Chamber networking events and functions.

 
Ambassador Club Vision
As a service organization the Ambassador Club vision is to strengthen overall relationships with members and increase exposure of a member’s business by assisting with Chamber events and creating awareness of chamber benefits. 

Goals and Objectives
The goal of an Ambassador is to recruit and retain new members and help members form strategic relationships to advance their businesses.

• To provide ongoing membership contact to help promote retention and encourage member 

   involvement
• To welcome and assist all Chamber members and prospective members at meetings and events
• To visit new businesses and inform them of the benefits of becoming a Chamber member
• To perform welcome calls to new members and retention calls to existing members

Benefits of Participation
The benefits of participation as an Ambassador are many and include expanded business contacts through active association with other volunteers and members, enhanced business and community visibility and growth of communication and marketing skills.

• Recognition among peers as a community and business leader
• Expanded business and social contacts
• Special rewards based on level of participation

Period of Service
Ambassadors serve for one year. The criteria for remaining a member of the Ambassador Club include active monthly involvement, the recruitment of new members, assistance with retention calls and attendance at Plano Chamber of Commerce networking events. After three months of inactivity members will be contacted regarding their involvement.

Ambassador Club Five W’s of Participation

WHO: Members are Plano Chamber of Commerce volunteers who are committed to growing business through the development of personal relationships with current and prospective members.

WHAT: Participation as an Ambassador provides members with increased opportunities to make connections with new and potential business partners.

WHEN:  Ambassador participation is an ongoing commitment requiring continuous interaction with Chamber members, volunteering at Chamber functions, and attendance at networking meetings and local Ribbon Cuttings.

WHERE: Members host meetings and events throughout Plano.  Chamber staff provide Ambassadors with updated, timely information to plan accordingly.

WHY: Not only do Ambassadors directly help the Plano Chamber of Commerce, their participation at Chamber events and community activities builds valuable friendships that turn into profitable business relationships.

An Ambassador Club Luncheon is held every other month.
